Childcare
We cater to children from six weeks to five years old. Matisse has a number of rooms available, with experienced childcare providers.
For babies and toddlers, development is supported in a safe environment with free play. Children can then have a seamless transition to our kindergarten program, in preparation for school.
Long Day Care
With operating hours between 6.30am and 6.00pm, Matisse fits in with your schedule. We have long daycare options to suit your work or study commitments. We offer six different sessions, from full day sessions to half day sessions in the morning and afternoon.
We pride ourselves on excellent communication and we’ll update you on your child’s progress. Even when you can’t be there, you’ll never miss a moment.
Holiday Programs
Our comprehensive, in-house holiday programs are open for school age children up to 10 years old. A list of options will be available every day of the week, including:

A day in the life...
When you drop your child off at Matisse Early Learning Centre, a friendly team member will be there to greet you. You can use this opportunity to ask questions and flag any concerns.
Parents are welcome to stay with their children while they complete their morning routine. If your child is feeling nervous, we will put them at ease. We’ll support their friendships and encourage them to try a mix of activities.
During the day, your child will be offered fresh fruit, morning tea, lunch, and afternoon snack, all freshly prepared on site. For younger children, cots are provided for safe, supervised naps. We offer a range of art-based activities including painting, crafts, and sensory play.

What do I need to bring for my child?
For babies:
A bag that will fit two spare changes of clothing, nappies, dummy, milk bottle and a plastic bag for wet clothes.
For toddlers and kindy children:
A bag that will fit two spare change of clothes including socks and underwear, a filled water bottle, sunhat and a plastic bag for wet clothes.
Also remember to bring anything else that your child might need such as formula, breast milk, medication or favourite comfort toy for example.
Please make sure everything is labelled!
What types of food do you provide?
We provide a wide variety of foods that is suitable for children. Our food is freshly prepared on site daily from fresh products and is healthy and nutritional.
Do you cater for different dietary, religious and medical requirements?
Yes, we certainly cater for individual needs as much as we possibly can. Please let us know of your child’s specific requirements and we will work towards his/her needs accordingly.
What is a typical daily routine in each room?
The routines will vary from room to room. For our youngest friends in the babies room, we will try and follow a routine that is close to their home routine, with naps, feeding and play time. For our toddlers, the routine will be a little less individual with more scheduled sleeps, meals and activities during the day. For the kindy children, the routine will focus on structure and school readiness.
Am I eligible for Child Care Subsidy?
You will be eligible for Child Care Subsidy if you or your partner meet the minimum requirements set by the Australian Government.
The amount of CCS subsidised hours and percentage of cover will mainly depend on your family’s income, the hourly rate cap of the Childcare service you want to enrol your child/children in, the hours of activity you and your partner do, and the number of children in your care. All applications are assessed individually. All detailed information can be found on Services Australia.
The CCS fees are paid directly to the provider, leaving the family to only pay the residual value to make up for the daily fee (also called “The Gap”)
Is the service Sun Smart accredited?
The centre is Sun Smart accredited and follows clear Sun Smart guidance. Sunscreen is applied regularly throughout the day before going outdoors and UV levels are monitored on a daily basis. Parents are required to provide a sunhat and appropriate clothing.
Are your staff qualified?
All staff employed at Matisse Early Learning hold the required qualification to do the job they are employed to do. All educators hold or are working towards a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and/or hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
As per regulations and when required, Matisse Early Learning employs an Early Childhood Teacher.
What is the child/educator ratio?
Staff ratio varies from room to room and is a at minimum:
Nursery room – 1 staff for every 4 children
Toddler’s room – 1 staff for every 5 children
Kindy room – 1 staff for every 10 children
Are public holidays charged?
Public holidays are charged at the same daily fee as any other day. Child Care Subsidy will also apply on public holiday if the allowable yearly absences have not been exceeded.
